Douglas N. Truslow

Biography

Doug grew up in Fairfield County, South Carolina, where he attended Winnsboro High School. He is a graduate of both University of South Carolina and University of South Carolina School of Law. He began practicing law in 1975. While serving as an Assistant Solicitor in Richland and Kershaw Counties, South Carolina, he was in charge of the Major Crimes Unit. He entered private practice in 1979. As a partner in the firm of Lewis, Lewis, Bruce and Truslow, he focused on general litigation. In 1987, Doug formed his solo practice, Douglas N. Truslow, PA. In 2009, he and his son formed Truslow & Truslow, to serve the citizens and small businesses of South Carolina.

Doug was one of the first South Carolina attorneys to handle a criminal case under the United States Sentencing Guidelines. In addition to his extensive criminal experience, Doug has handled notable cases in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, construction law, workers’ compensation, and domestic relations. Past clients include various law enforcement agencies and officials, professional athletes, small business owners, and individuals throughout the State of South Carolina.

In his free time, Doug enjoys hunting and fishing, the outdoors, traveling, shooting sports, Gamecock athletics, and spending time with his wife and eight grandchildren.
